# March Madness Bracket Maker

Build a real 64 team bracket with four regions, seeds 1 through 16 in each, and the four region winners meeting in the Final Four. Paste your own field and play it through to a champion.

## What this tool does

- Four named regions, 16 seeds each, exactly like the real thing
- Paste order is seed order, so the 1 seed opens against the 16 seed
- Region winners meet in the Final Four, then the championship
- Fill the whole bracket with chalk (the favourites) or at random in one click

## Default contestants

- # East
- # West
- # South
- # Midwest

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What are the four regions?

The field is split into four groups of 16 that play separately until the Final Four. They start as East, West, South and Midwest, and you can rename any of them by editing its # header before you generate the bracket.

### How does the seeding work?

Paste order is seed order. The first team under a region header is that region's 1 seed, the second is the 2 seed, and so on down to 16. The bracket then pairs 1 against 16, 8 against 9, and the rest of the standard order, so the top seeds only meet late.

### Are the First Four play in games included?

No. The play in games are out of scope here, so paste the final 64 team field and the bracket starts at the first round.

### What do the Chalk and Random fill buttons do?

Chalk plays every remaining game with the favourite, the lower seed number, so you get the all favourites bracket in one click. When two equal seeds meet, such as two 1 seeds in the Final Four, the win goes to the region listed first in the pairing, so chalk is always the same for the same field. Random fill decides every remaining game at random but leans on the seeds: an even matchup is a coin flip and every seed of gap adds 3 points to the favourite, up to 95 percent, so a 1 seed usually beats a 16 and upsets still happen. Undo puts a whole fill back in one press.

### Can I use this for any 64 team event?

Yes. Nothing here is tied to one tournament. Any 64 team field that splits into four groups of 16 works, and smaller regions are allowed too: the empty slots become byes for that region's top seeds.

### Is it free?

Yes, completely free. No sign up, no login, and no limit on how many brackets you build.
